Mike Madden brings more than 28 years of experience to his role as Principal and President of the Commercial/Industrial Division.

A lifelong St. Louisan, Mike graduated from St. John Vianney High School and went on to earn his degree from Missouri State University. He specializes in managing commercial and industrial projects up to $5 million, with a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver quality results at that scale.

Mike leads with a straightforward philosophy: trust your gut, do what’s right, and treat people the way you’d want to be treated. When he’s not on a job site or meeting with clients, you can find him outdoors—boating, golfing, fishing, or hunting.

Tom Madden

2nd generation, over 30 years experience

Principal, President Residential Division

With more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Tom Madden serves as Principal and President of the Residential Division at Madden Construction.

A proud native of St. Louis, Tom attended St. Mary’s High School before continuing his education at Missouri State and Webster University. He specializes in residential projects, particularly kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor living spaces like covered porches.

Tom is committed to building and maintaining long-term relationships, believing that these connections are the foundation for growing the company for future generations. Outside of work, he enjoys boating, fishing, and hunting.

Tim Madden

2nd generation, over 30 years experience

Principal, President Service Division

Tim Madden brings over three decades of experience to his role as Principal and President of the Service Division.

A graduate of St. John Vianney High School and Saint Louis University, Tim leads the team in both residential and commercial service work, with a special focus on emergency response. His passion lies in passing down the family business and mentoring the next generation of construction leaders.

Running a second-generation company while actively training the third generation is one of his proudest achievements. When he’s not at work, Tim enjoys boating, fishing, hunting, and playing soccer.

Jeff Freihaut

Over 25 years experience

Project Manager, Superintendent, Commercial Division

Jeff Freihaut is a Project Manager and Superintendent in the Commercial Division with over 25 years of experience in the industry. He grew up in St. Louis and graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School before earning his degree at Rockhurst University.

Known for his ability to manage multiple projects and communicate clearly with clients and contractors, Jeff plays a key role in expanding the commercial capabilities of Madden Construction. He’s been a close friend of the Madden family for over 30 years and has worked with the company for more than eight. In his free time, he enjoys boating, fishing, and soccer.

Lisa Haegele

Over 30 years experience

Office Manager, Bookkeeping, and Human Resources

Lisa Haegele brings over 30 years of experience to her role as Office Manager at Madden Construction, where she handles bookkeeping, HR, and day-to-day operations.

A St. Louis native, she’s known for her strong organizational skills, and one of her proudest accomplishments is helping to transform paper systems into streamlined digital workflows that improve efficiency and accessibility.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys traveling to see family, cooking, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her personal and professional goal is simple: travel more.

Brendan Madden

3rd generation, over 7 years experience

Project Manager, Sales Director

Brendan Madden brings over seven years of experience to his dual role as Project Manager and Sales Director. A graduate of St. John Vianney High School and McKendree University, Brendan is deeply committed to nurturing long-term client relationships and fostering a strong sense of community through his work.

Whether he’s managing projects or connecting with clients, Brendan approaches each task with dedication and care. His hobbies include soccer, baseball, golf, fishing, and hunting.

Carl Paetow

Over 7 years experience

Estimating and Project Management, Commercial Division

Carl Paetow works in the Commercial Division, focusing on estimating and project management. A St. Louis native, Carl graduated from Lutheran High School and earned his degree in Construction Management from Missouri State University.

During his final year, he interned with Madden Construction, transitioning from residential fieldwork to commercial office work—a shift that highlighted the versatility of the company and deepened his appreciation for both sides of the business.

Carl now specializes in reading blueprints, estimating, and building strong client relationships. In his free time, he enjoys disc golf, chess, and hiking.

Jake Madden

3rd generation, over 5 years experience

Project Manager, Project Scheduling

As part of the third generation at Madden Construction, Jake Madden brings more than five years of experience to his work in project management and daily manpower scheduling. Born and raised in St. Louis, Jake is a graduate of St. Pius High School and Lindenwood University.

Known for his organizational skills and attention to detail, Jake is focused on growing with the company and helping to shape its future.

Jack Madden

3rd generation, 1 year of experience

Apprentice Carpenter

Jack Madden is an Apprentice Carpenter and proud member of the third generation at Madden Construction. With one year of hands-on experience, Jack is currently learning the ropes in the field while setting his sights on future leadership opportunities.

A graduate of St. John Vianney High School, Jack brings energy and enthusiasm to every project. When he’s not on the job, he enjoys soccer, golf, fishing, and spending time at the lake.
